Puzzle Pieces {Wedding Announcement}

My sister is getting married to a fantastic guy at the summer's end and they asked me to do their announcements.
They have such a cute and refreshingly uncomplicated relationship.

Sketch of work in progress coming soon:

    1. Oh, thank you, Carly! They actually originally were just planning on having only photographs. Then I got to talking about what I wanted for my future wedding (to draw my announcements) and Sierra said, "Well, why don't you draw OURS?!" And so that's how it happened. It was such fun, but also hard because my sister's face is SO familiar. Yeah. So there you have it. :)

    1. I know!!!!!!!!!!!! Funny thing is that they were colorers of books before they even knew about the song! Perfect. So they were meant to be together!

  3. the possibilities are endless when you can make your own invitations! I dig the coloring book theme. And I really like the direction you took with the window seal sketch. Were those originally people in the window? and what does WIP mean?

    1. When Sierra and Thomas first started dating, coloring books were a thing for them a lot. They enjoy simple activities; it's part of their relationship's charm.
      Thank you, I am not quite finished with the window one yet. I would finish it, but I haven't had much time since I am really bogged down in commissions. For now it's just kind of a color comp, and I am thinking of adding more bluish hues to kinda cool it down since it's too bright for the mood I want to create.
      In the original sketch is a tiny 2-inch-high sketch in my sketchbook, so it doesn't read well on here, haha--but on the left is a little girl, and on the right is a puppy or cat. I originally planned on following through with that idea, but then I decided that I drew too many kids and wanted to draw a couple instead. I probably should have explained that in my post.
      And "WIP" is an abbreviation for "Work In Progress." :)
